Working with the team at Advanced Dental, you know that our practice uses the most “advanced” technologies—as it’s right in our name! Drs. Chitra Tiruveedula and Joseph C. Yang serve patients in and around the Aliso Viejo, California, area. One way they use today’s technology is for digital dental x-rays. Let’s explore digital X-rays and examine a few frequently asked questions about them!
One of the primary reasons patients love our digital dental X-rays at Advanced Dental is the lessened exposure to radiation. Digital dental X-rays vs. traditional X-rays also mean a more precise diagnosis and less waiting time. In addition, our X-rays are much easier to store and access. They are quickly transferred between offices, shared with other healthcare providers, and easily retrieved for future reference. This convenience saves time and reduces the risk of misplacing or damaging physical X-rays.
Of course! All ages of patients are thought to be safe candidates for digital dental x-rays. Up to 90% less radiation is used by them than by conventional film X-rays. This makes them a much safer option for children and pregnant women who may have concerns about radiation exposure. Our office also follows strict safety protocols to ensure all necessary precautions are taken to protect our team and patients.
Digital dental X-rays can enhance and manipulate images, allowing for a more detailed and accurate diagnosis. The images produced by digital X-rays are also much clearer and easier to read compared to traditional film X-rays. This allows for better detection of potential issues such as cavities, bone loss, and abnormalities in the teeth or jawbone.
No special preparation is required for digital dental x-rays. However, be sure to inform your dentist of any previous X-rays taken so that they can compare and track changes in your oral health.
Digital dental X-rays have been deemed safe by various medical associations and have very low radiation exposure levels. The risk of potential harm from digital X-rays is extremely minimal. Furthermore, our advanced equipment allows us to capture high-quality images at a much lower radiation than traditional film X-rays.
