Chitra Tiruveedula and Joseph C. Yang of Advanced Dental provide patients with diagnostic services and can also assist in monitoring one’s oral health and wellness. With the help of our team, many patients in the Aliso Viejo, California, area can enjoy beautiful, healthy smiles! Part of preventative dentistry is routine dental X-rays, which provide imaging of the structures beneath the gums where the eye can see. Knowing what to look for is critical when spotting potential issues. Let’s look at a few more frequently asked questions about X-rays and their role in dentistry.
Diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, is used in all fields of medicine, including dentistry. Dental X-rays play an essential role in diagnosing and treating various oral health issues. By seeing beyond what is apparent to the human eye, X-rays help dentists better comprehend the oral health of their patients. When you visit our team at Advanced Dental of Aliso Viejo, California, you will likely have x-rays done at your first appointment with Drs. Chitra Tiruveedula and Joseph C. Yang.
One of the primary reasons dental X-rays are critical to oral health is that they aid in detecting dental problems at an early stage. Many dental issues, such as cavities and gum disease, do not show symptoms until they have progressed significantly. By using X-ray images, dentists can identify these problems before they become more severe and potentially cause irreversible damage.
At Advanced Dental, dental X-rays give our team important information about the shape and state of a patient’s teeth, jawbone, and surrounding tissues. This information is crucial when planning future treatments such as orthodontics, dental implants, or root canals. X-rays help dentists determine the best course of action and provide a more accurate treatment plan for their patients.
Advanced Dental of Aliso Viejo uses digital X-ray technology, significantly reducing radiation exposure compared to traditional film X-rays. Our team takes all necessary precautions to protect our patients from any potential risks. Early detection and proper treatment benefits far outweigh the minimal risk associated with dental X-rays.
Dental X-rays are just one of several tools used by our team at Advanced Dental to evaluate a patient’s smile and decide if they need further dental services. They also provide a way to monitor oral health over time. If you are looking for a dental team in the area who can assist you with your oral health needs, we invite you to call our office to request an upcoming visit. We welcome you to visit us at 26831 Aliso Creek Road, Suite #202. You can reach us by calling (949) 289-9993.
